Slung across his torso plain in sight is his brown leather pistol holster, with his sword sheathed more humbly at his right side in a similarly made brown leather holder.
General Appearance: Monty could be considered average size for his height. He has a very toned body – extra evident while wearing only a tank top – but isn’t overly muscular. He has lighter skin with little to no hair on his body, besides his head. His hairstyle is, to say, rather ridiculous. His hair is a large, solid black flat top that is over a foot tall. It is kept together through inexplicable means, but always stays solid in a pinch. He also has thick sideburns that reach down most of his face, but don’t form into facial hair. For a man who enjoys his life, he very frequently has a slightly bored or uninterested look on his face, as if he could be doing something better.

Personality: Fresh is very much a stoic individual. He is of the mindset that too much emotion can have a negative effect on your lifestyle and will negatively impact important decisions that you make, no matter what walk of life you come from. Because of this he is a very calm individual that has a relatively high emotional tolerance for situations. It would take quite a bit of effort on one’s part to incite an emotional reaction from Fresh, especially if you were actively trying to. That being said he is not an emotionless robot, but rather is an already naturally calm and easygoing individual that is made further so by his philosophy. He is also not cold, numb, or cynical by any means. He has the same moral compass as the next guy and will still react positively to good things and negatively to bad things, just on a much smaller scale. He still appreciates the beauty of life and acknowledges the not-so-beautiful aspects as well. He also isn’t out to spread his philosophy or even tell others what to do; it’s simply a belief he has stuck to and that has worked out well for him so far.

When it comes to dealing with others, Fresh will most likely be very straightforward, leaving sarcasm or deception to someone who can better wield it. Because of this he will sometimes bite off more than he can chew, such as telling an entire pirate crew that he is a bounty hunter and is after them. When a situation gets heated Fresh will always keep his cool. If it is something he can control, then he sees no need to worry about it. If it’s something that he cannot control, he still sees no reason to worry about it.

Fresh chose the bounty hunting life style because it was a chance to see the world, meet plenty of people, clash swords for a living and still be on good terms with the law. Though he does consider himself a law-abiding citizen, if he finds himself in a place of corruption or asinine law, he will not be remorseful about breaking said laws or getting in trouble, as long as it is for a reasonable purpose.

Hometown: Kyuka Island, Grand Line
History: Monty Fresco, Jr. was born to a Monty Fresco, Sr. and his wife Judith on Kyuka Island in the Grand Line. Monty Sr. and Judith both worked as attendants at the great resort on the island. You would think that growing up on a resort island on the Grand Line would be an interesting enough life for a kid – being able to see the travelers tough enough to bare through Paradise – but it wasn’t. Monty Jr. was always running errands for his pop away from all of that, and his overly careful mother was constantly taking him to the far side of the island any time an even possibly dangerous person pulled up to the docks. It was a childhood of being brushed away from danger and he hated most of it.

As he became a teenager, Monty Jr. began to work at the resort as well. He was given his first glimpses of the powerful people who came through the resort. It was like a floodgate in his mind had opened. What was he doing here if he could become that? But he also knew it would break the hearts of his parents. Plus, trying to start off in the Grand Line was a sure fire way to get yourself killed quickly. But then, his opportunity arrived. After a big scuffle between two powerful visitors on the island, Monty Sr. applied for the Marines in order to get an easy and safe job out of the Grand Line. Before they knew it, the Fresco family was on a ship through the Calm Belt to Loguetown, where Monty Sr. would be stationed. Monty Jr. never thought he would make it to the Blues, but he knew this was the perfect opportunity to start an exciting life.


Combat: Fresh is by no means a combat savant, but will fight fair and to the best of his abilities, as long as the opponent is also fighting fair. He primarily fights with his short sword, with allows him quick and close attacks that can fit in the sweet spot that foes with large weapons cannot make. He is also not afraid to use his pistol, and will primarily use it on large foes or creatures. If need be in the swiftness of combat, he will also throw in a punch or a kick, though he is hardly proficient in martial arts.
