    Signatures

To make things simpler when it comes to looking for character profiles, all accepted characters need to be put in your signature. To do this: go to “Preferences” at the top of the page, and choose “Change Signature”. Then copy the relevant codes into your signature and fill it in.

Note: Any character who is not in your signature will NOT receive rewards from SLs.

    Pirates:
    Code:
    [url=insert character URL here]Character Name[/url] • Crew Position • Profession Name • [url=insert pirate crew link here]Pirate Crew[/url] • [b]Bounty:[/b] 0 • [b]SD Earned[/b]: 0 • [b]Beli[/b]: 0 • [b]Location[/b]: The location your character is at – At least mention which Blue.
    Marines:
    Code:
    [url=insert character URL here]Character Name[/url] • Marine Rank Position • Profession Name • [url=insert marine crew URL here]Marine Division name[/url] • [b]Commendations[/b]: 0 • [b]SD Earned[/b]: 0 • [b]Beli[/b]: 0 • [b]Location[/b]: The location your character is at – At least mention which Blue.
    Bounty Hunter:
    Code:
    [url=insert character URL here]Character Name[/url] • Crew Position • Profession Name • [url=insert crew URL here]Crew (if applicable)[/url] • [b]Threat[/b]: 0 • [b]SD Earned[/b]: 0 • [b]Beli[/b]: 0 • [b]L[/b]: The location your character is at – At least mention which Blue.

    Crew Guidelines

Everyone wants to be part of a crew, so once you’ve found the people your character will be hanging out with most of the time, you need to get it registered here. A ‘crew’ is a fairly loosely defined. It is essentially the people you RP with. Crews do not have to work well together, they do not have to have anything in common, they don’t even have to be of the same faction, although there may be some IC consequences of trying to have inter-faction groups.

Crews also gain weakling crewmen as they grow in notoriety. Each of these mooks will have an average 5 in all stats. Their number scale in accordance to the highest character on the crew, but gain a small buff in numbers if other crewmembers are notorious as well.
    Mook Gain

    Highest Threat/Bounty/Commedations in Crew Mooks
    Currency 10,000,000 | 10 Threat | 10 Commendations 5 Mooks
    Currency 30,000,000 | 30 Threat | 30 Commendations 10 Mooks
    Currency 50,000,000 | 50 Threat | 50 Commendations 25 Mooks
    Currency 100,000,000 | 100 Threat | 100 Commendations 50 Mooks
    Currency 300,000,000+ | 300+ Threat | 300+ Commendations 100 Mooks
    Mook Gain

    Other Crewman Additional Mooks
    Currency 10,000,000 | 10 Threat | 10 Commendations +1 Mooks
    Currency 30,000,000 | 30 Threat | 30 Commendations +2 Mooks
    Currency 50,000,000 | 50 Threat | 50 Commendations +5 Mooks
    Currency 100,000,000 | 100 Threat | 100 Commendations +10 Mooks
    Currency 300,000,000+ | 300+ Threat | 300+ Commendations +20 Mooks

    Ship Guidelines

Now, a bit of information about how ships will work: Everyone starts off with a basic Goldfish class ship. Whilst ship techniques are a possibility, these are not available to starting vessels; they need special modifications depending on the technique you’re after. After the initial vessel, upgrades in terms of armaments, size, special modifications, can all be bought. Prices and the like will be determined by staff when you post in the Sea Growth section.

    Development History

You might notice that in the template there’s a section at the bottom that says "Development History". This is for all the changes that you will make to your character as they progress. In the "Gains/Losses" section, you include any SD, Beli, items, other rewards that you gain from your SLs, including a link to the relevant thread where you gained them, as well as any spending you might have done, or use of the items.

The other part of this is the Edit Log. At OPNW, we trust you to keep your own profile up to date when it comes to adding new SD, etc. so you have the ability to edit your profiles. However, all changes must be documented in the Edit Log. Original copies of the profiles are kept, so if illegal changes are made, they can be traced, and nasty things will happen.

With major changes, like new weapons, techniques, or DF changes, or changing large parts of their history, post a Character Changes topic with the changes you’d like to make. The topic must be approved before you may edit these things into your profile. You cannot just edit these in without getting them checked. For everything else, including but not limited to: SD updates, Gains/Losses updates, appearance changes/tweaks, etc., just edit them in yourself and note them in the log.

The Edit Log itself can be as simple as a date, and the changes made. As long as everything is documented, it is fine.

If you need help organizing your Development History, ask a Moderator for help or refer to this guide.

    In-Character Death

Death, obviously, should be something you have control over. Not supreme control, but like, every day you make decisions that make you more or less likely to die. The same should apply in the RP, only amplified somewhat because of the much more exceptional circumstances our characters are expected to face, with a touch of tempering for balance.

    1. Death by Environment

      • In the cases of PC death by NPC or Environment, the following conditions must be met:
      • NPC/Environment is controlled by a C-Mod or higher.
      • Death is reviewed and approved by no less than two peers.
      • Character death was the result of poor choices by the PC.

When PCs embark into dangerous territory, they should have some opportunity determined by the IC decisions they make to avoid death. This should be tailored to the character/s involved, so that typically brash characters have some option within the scope of their character that will not lead to death.

    2. Death by Player/PC

In the event that a player is killed by another PC, the following conditions must be met:
      • Death is reviewed and approved by no less than two Global Mods/Admins.
      • PC killed assented to allow his character to be killed,
      OR
      • PC repeatedly made IC decisions during interaction with other PCs which implied unwillingness to back down/retreat, implying consent.

    To encourage adventurous spirit and wipe away any concerns, here are a few clarifications on the existing PvP rules;

    • 1) The conflict is only IC. Members should remember they are writing together and be amicable when resolving issues. OOC hostility and disagreements will incur deducts for all parties involved as standard punishment.
    • 2) System nuance is not grounds for victory. Though members are responsible for learning the rules, attempts to take advantage of a misunderstanding or deceive another member about particular rules to claim victory on a technicality will be adjudged as violating the conflict is only IC agreement and suffer similar punishments.
    • 3) Remember the basic ground rules of the forum. Attempts at Godmodding or metagaming on OPNW will be frowned upon and punished with deductions as standard.
    • 4) Defeat does not mean death, maiming or permanent damage. Part of the spirit of One Piece is fighting against the odds and characters are not immediately punished for doing this. Unless consent is given, the victor of a fight does not get to force anything upon the loser. Attempts to force a grisly fate on the defeated party will be retconned and punished with deductions as standard.
    • 5) Loser invulnerability. The constitution of player characters on OPNW is exceptional with the ability to survive seemingly mortal blows. An unlikely intervention, a large dose of luck or lapse in technique by a would be killer is always granted to allow a defeated character to escape an otherwise deadly situation. Attempts to deny this free pass without consent or staff judgement will be retconned and punished with deductions as standard.

In all cases, persistent offenders risk greater deducts, warns and even bans. Please play nice and avoid dragging staff members into every disagreement.

    The Mechanics of Death

Scoops - see below - are for fixing broken characters or salvaging the process of a character the RPer can no longer enjoy RPing by reincarnating into a new entity. They are not a "safety net" to be clung to in the off chance of death. Death will be handled the same whether or not the player had a free scoop at the time of PC death.

When a character dies, the net wealth of his belongings are calculated. The player must the make another character (or keep some official record of if they wish to make the character at a later time), but having lost 25% of the SD and Wealth of the deceased character. DFs attained through SLs may be kept, if the character will still have enough SD to afford to use the DF after the death calculations. Contest rewards and other such items will be converted to Beli before the final division.

Finally, players may choose to allow a character to die after announcing intent to scoop. If the posted scoop's timestamp predates the death, the player may keep all of his SD, Beli, Event items, etc.

A scoop may not be declared in any situation in which the character is in mortal peril, i.e. during Site Plot, or in the process of an encounter with a hostile PC (determined by the moment of IC meeting). In the case of questionable intended death scoops, Global Moderators and Administrators have the final say.

    Scooping

Scooping is a method for which a person is able to create a new character app and transfer over things such as earned SD and Items. This may be done by scooping into the same character, allowing the member to change around some traits, techniques, and other stuff, or it can be done to create an entirely new character without starting from scratch at 0 SD.

The only thing that is always carried over in a scoop is SD. Here is a list of other things that can be kept:

    • Fame Value*
    • Contest Rewards
    • Devil Fruits*
    • Traits that require a SL to "unlock"

*Note that Fame Value is only carried over if the character is the same faction. When scooping into other factions, please see the Subsidized Notoriety section of Factions.

*Note that Devil fruits may only be Directly scooped one time before you lose first access to it. After that You will go into a 1 Week waiting period where anyone else who wants it gets first dibs.

Please note that Beli is not carried over when scooping. Instead, their beli will be standardized according to the following:

    Spoiler:

*A Character scooping in the Blues will continue to have 250,000 beli per SD beyond 51.

Any items, weapons, Ships, or Any purchases not listed will not need to be sold as their value will be already accounted for in the standardization.

Alas, scooping can not be done freely at any time and without any restrictions. Here are the Rules that come along with scooping a character.

    General Scoop Rules

    • A member may only scoop only once every four months.
    • Once a given character slot has been scooped, that character slot cannot be scooped again for 6 months.
    • The scoop timer starts upon character approval.

    Revision Scoops

Note: This is when you spend your normal scoop to revise (change or update) an existing character, rather than to create a new character in that slot. It is a distinction, not it's own special kind of scoop.

    • A character will be allowed one revision scoop from creation. The cooldown on this scoop resets at every 200 SD earned.
    • As an exception to the above, any time a new major update to the rules is made that directly effects existing traits, professions, or technique guidelines, the revision scoop cooldown will be reset on all qualifying characters. Regular scoop cooldowns will be unaffected.
    • Any trait that has a visible, physiological effect on the character will not be eligible for removal by revision scoop. This includes but is not limited to:
      • All Cyborg Traits
      • All Race Traits
      • Mad Scientist
      • Haki and Life Return Legacy Traits
    • No scooping out of DFs, even if you haven't eaten them IC yet. You chose to take the DF, it's yours.
    • No scooping out of DFs, even if you haven't visibly used it, ever, in front of anybody. You chose to take the DF, it's yours.
    • No scooping out of DFs, even if you can create a logical set of circumstances for explaining your previous uses of it. You chose to take the DF, it's yours.

    Free Scoop Conditions

    • If somebody takes a DF you had because you were inactive, you get a free scoop useable for that character only. All regular scoop rules apply to this scoop. Standard 6 month slot cooldown kicks in after this free scoop.
    • If you have a Grandfathered DF (one that will be banned once it has been scooped from) or a Grandfathered race (one that will be extinct once it has been scooped from), you may claim a free scoop for the character in question at any time. All regular scoop rules apply to this scoop. Standard 6 month slot cooldown kicks in after this free scoop.

    History-Swap Clones

    • Scooping into a new character with the same appearance and personality as a previous character is allowed. However, the name and history must be entirely unique. Everything that the previous character did, everyone they knew, and everything they were no longer is. The new character is some random unrelated lookalike.

When you wish to scoop a character, post in this [url=https://onepiecenw.rpg-board.net/t24-scoop-thread]thread[/list] using the provided template. Until you do, it will not be recognized. Additionally, the scoop date will not be recorded until you have both been approved and have provided a link to the profile in this thread. If you've received a free scoop, make a note of it in this thread, or in your character application.
