Personality:
Ognyana can be summed up as a woman who can be stubborn to the last. She very rarely admits her own mistakes. Even when she does, she refuses to be at fault. In a life or death situation she would rather go down in a fight than be obedient. The only time she was obedient to someone was when she was training to become a fighter.
A large reason for her setting out on a journey of piracy is the thought of having the most power at the end of it all. She then wants to use that power to unite the land under one banner. Whether that banner is hers remains to be seen.
She has a rather high loathing for those who disagree with her on things because she's pretty sure she is in the right. She makes sure she is. She reads up on things. Since she does her homework she is obviously right all the time.

History:
She grew up in a town focused on teaching its residents how to disarm people when things got too out of hand. Knowing it was a vital ability to have, she put her all into learning the style. Though she took it a bit far and decided to implement the disarmed weapons into her style.
One day in her late teen years, she got into an argument with her family. Eventually she was thrown out of the house due to her temperament so she decided then and there to live by her own means. Her first stop was the local tavern so she could garner some information on how to get off this island.
She was a bit hungry when she arrived at the tavern and sat at the counter. Nearby was a weird looking fruit. She didn't see anyone around that it could have belonged to so she grabbed it and opened her mouth to take a bite.
Though just before she could, the supposed owner of the fruit shouted in protest. She glanced over as the person explained it wasn't supposed to be eaten because it was cursed. Ognyana merely raised a brow as she looked at the fruit and put it back on the table with a sigh.
When the owner made their way back to the counter, a proposition was made. If she did a job for the person, she could possibly let her have it.
She was wary at first about what the job could possibly be, and she wondered if she really cared enough about the cursed fruit to even bother. After all, she was just hungry. Though after the person explained it was cursed because it took away the ability to swim in exchange for power, she became more interested.
The job was a rather easy one, at least in her eyes. Go to the next village and take down its dojo. Who was this person that wanted revenge on the village? She could care less because it was an excuse to test her skills and a chance to get some power under her belt.
